Printed Bonded Surfaces
Commonly used for traffic calming and pedestrian areas the material is a thin lay, cold applied road surface that can be imprinted; this product gives the appearance of paving blocks or cobbles. Available in a wide range of colours and textures, including some which are 100% recycled aggregate. High skid resistance values can also be specified to make this the ideal choice for most road marking and traffic calming schemes.
Laid typically at thickness of 3-5mm, the polymer modified resin-based surface can be applied quickly on to existing asphalt, concrete or timber. A pattern tool is then used to add a print. Curing time is short, and the finished surface is ready to receive traffic within hours, creating the minimum of traffic disruption.
Surface Preparation
All bituminous, concrete and timber surfaces being treated with the printed bonded surface must be of sound construction. Any weaknesses could result in bond failure. All the surfaces must be clean, dry and free of all dirt and contamination. Contaminated surfaces should be heat blasted with a controlled Hot Compressed Air System.
The recommended temperature of application should be between 5°C and 30°C.
Colour
The product is available in a wide range of colours, including red, oxide red, grey, buff, yellow, green and blue. Other colours are available on request including recycled terracotta, ceramic and coloured glass.
Pot Life/Curing Time
The pot life of the unmixed product stored in a cool, dry atmosphere above 5°C, and free from frost, is 12 months. The pot life of a full container of mixed resin at 20°C is 15 minutes. The cure time for applied product is 1-3 hours at 18°C.
Sweeping/Vacuuming
Treated surfaces must be thoroughly swept or vacuumed on completion.
